We are delighted to announce that the planning for our 90th Annual Wisconsin Horological Society (WHS) 2025 Convention is now complete! We would like to extend an invitation to the members of the NAWCC Chapter 20 members to attend our upcoming convention May 2-4 at the Chula Vista Resort and Water park in the Wisconsin Dells.
We have assembled an excellent lineup of speakers whose sessions will appeal to both clockmakers and watchmakers. Speakers include our own Minnesota’s Accutron watch expert Darold Hanson and Dennis Ondik.
Convention Speakers and Topics:
Dennis Ondik, Clockmaker – Secretary of Wisconsin Horological Society will be speaking on the evolution of mainsprings and metallurgy throughout HorologyT
Stephen Franke, Clockmaker, AWCI Instructor – “1558- To Bush or Not to Bush?”, will cover the sympathetic restoration of a French Renaissance drum timepiece dated 1558.
Larry Blanchard, CMW, AWCI Fellow– Well known for his expertise on Accutron will be discussing Accutron Battery replacement tips.
Darold Hanson, Author of Complete Guide to Accutron Watches will discuss the early quartz watches including those with balances and other mechanical devices
Michael Whistler Watchmaker, TM Watch – Servicing Vintage Chronographs:Hints and Tips
Al Smiles, CMW21 – President of Wisconsin Horological Society in collaboration with Philip Stoller will be discussing Laser Welding and Case Repairs
Philip Stoller, CW, CC – Instructor/Teacher at Gem City College, Academy of Watchmaking in collaboration with Stephen Franke will be discussing Natural Jewels in restorations and Synthetic Jewels
This year’s convention will be held at the Chula Vista Resort & Water Park, which offers fantastic meeting facilities and a family-friendly indoor water park. We encourage you to bring your families to enjoy the amenities while attending the event!
