DESCRIPTION:94rd annual conference \nLOCATION: Mendota VFW\, 1323 Sibley Memorial Highway\, Mendota\, MN 55150 \n12 Noon start registration \nSPEAKERS : \n12:30  Open Round Table consortium of Hair Spring workers\, teachers\, practitioners.  Three former WOSTEP instructors\, hopefully Mahlon L Shetler with discussions of the history\, and beginnings of hairsprings\, adjustments\, pinning\, straightening\, vibrating\, and all things hairsprings.  Bring your problems\, troubles and questions. \nSaturday the round table continues Sauturday May 9th to finish up anything else that we haven’t covered yet. \nFurnished lunch from Teressa’s Mexican\, and annual Yearly meeting \nAfternoon we have the presentations and judging of the 2nd Horological competition. \n2nd Horological competition is open to any member (you can sign up at the door for $25).  The object is to have made any form of horological item since 2 years ago( the first competition).  Home made clocks\, skeleton watches\, minute repeater complications\, rose engine machines\, wooden clocks anything you have made/assembled/altered is eligible.  You will present your item on Saturday afternoon and after all the presentation the attendees will bote on the best item. \nFirst prize is $1\,000 presented by J.B. Hudson.  Second prize of $500 presented by the clockmakers guild.  Third prize of $500 presented by the Midwest watchmakers\, clockmakers association.  We would ask permission of any winners to be able to photograph their winning submission either with or without the winner.

DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota regional NAWCC Chapter meets the third Saturday of odd-numbered calendar months at various restaurants around the Twin Cities metro area. \nDATE-TIME:  – Saturday\, November 16\, 2019         (Noon) \n  \nLOCATION:   Mediterranean Cruise \n                         12500 Nicollet Ave (Located off Hwy 13 and Nicollet Ave\, just East of 35W) \n                         Burnsville\, MN 55337            \n                         Phone: (952) 641-6222               \n  \nAGENDA:      11:30-12:30 – Registration\, Social Hour\, Workshop and Mart \n                         12:30 – 1:30 – Meal \n1:30 – 2:00 – Business meeting \n                         2:15 – 3:45PM – Program begins and Mart closes. \n  \nMART:             Bring any horological items you wish to sell. \n  \nWORKSHOPS: None. \n  \n  \nDINNER:                    Buffet is Greek themed but includes many items to satisfy most appetites. \n  \nPROGRAM:     Tom McIntyre will present “Designing a Museum Exhibit – The McIntyre Watch Company of Kankakee\, Illinois” \n  \nThe McIntyre Watch Co. had a very brief period of existence from its incorporation in 1911 until the closing in 1913. Fred McIntyre and Charles DeLong designed a new watch with several important patent improvements and promoted the concept of a new factory to produce high grade watches. Through surviving artifacts: a prototype of an elegant patent model watch and a watch made from scratch by Fred McIntyre\, two magnificent watches to show the new design made by Charles DeLong\, and the ink on linen drawings in support of the manufacturing process as well as the stock of ebauches and work in process materials are currently in a combined collection belonging to Tom McIntyre and Bruce McIntyre\, the grandson of Fred McIntyre.                        \nAll reservations must be received by November 9\, 2019 \n  \n            Make checks payable to “OTL Chapter 20” \nRESERVATIONS:  Indicate the number of dinners below and send a check payable to O. DESCRIPTION:Midwest Watch Show and Swap Meet\n\nYou are invited to attend and participate in this event! \nBring your watches to sell or trade. This is a fun event and good opportunity to sell some of your watch stuff!  Midwest Watch Club will have a table to share with anyone wanting to display a few watches\, or as a “swapping” area. \nNOTE: Anyone sharing the table space with the Midwest Watch Club is responsible to price\, sell and keep track of their own watches. \nFor a $10 nominal fee (paid to the show sponsor) you can have as much table real estate as you want. Last show\, I sold three watches! So\, bring out your bins and boxes of stuff. \nLet’s set a goal to have 10 people have their own tables (you know who you are).

This month the group is taking a boat cruise near Red Wing\, MN. \nThere is no parking at the boat. Take the shuttle from the casino to the boat dock. \n  \nBoat: The Spirit Of The Water \n  \n                         Please arrive at the Casino by 5:00PM.  Shuttle departs from the Casino.  There is no parking at the boat dock.  Remember to allow enough time for travel. \n  \nAGENDA:      5:00 – 5:30 – Arrive at Treasure Island Casino – Event Center \n                         5:30 – 6:00 – Departure from Casino Event Center by shuttle to the boat \n                         6:00 – 8:30 – Boat Leaves Dock\, Scenic Tour \n  \nMART:             None. \n  \nWORKSHOPS: None \n  \nDINNER:  Buffet with house salad bar\, slow-roasted beef prime rib au jus and horseradish sauce\, Tuscan chicken breast with Parmesan cheese and Balsamic glaze\, potatoes\, roasted vegetables\, tomato basil pilaf\, dinner rolls and assorted desserts.  Water\, tea and coffee included.  Cash bar on board. \n  \nPROGRAM:     For the September meeting we will be taking a dinner cruise on the Mississippi River aboard the Spirit of the Water.  To board the boat you must take a shuttle from the Treasure Island Casino Event Center near Redwing.  The trip will last 2 and a half hours.  The boat can hold up to 100 passengers. \n  \nContact Us for more information.
