DESCRIPTION:John Symiczek on Restoring a J W Benson clock.S.S. & J. W. Benson was founded in 1847 by James William Benson and Suckley Benson but after1855 the partnership was dissolved.  With J.W. Benson on his own and being very influential in Victorian London JW Benson became one of most prestigious retail jewelers\, clockmakers\, and also\, quite remarkably\, a manufacturer of its own watch and clock movements.  He had prestigious premises at 43 Cornhill and 33 Ludgate Hill in London.
